Parental Alienation Counseling in Vero Beach, Florida
Parental alientation is the end result of a high-conflict relationship. The children of the relationship become the equivilent of collateal damage. One spouse will use their children as emotional blackmail as their weapon of choice. While the intended target is the other spouse, children become emotionally scared from the continually fighting between parents who are no longer together.
Addictions can also play a role in parental alientation. When an individual is addicted to drugs, alcohol or both they often neglect their relationships. They can even abandon family members for a period of time. Once they become sober former addicts and alcoholics will often attempt to repair their damaged relationships. While adults may not fully understand how it is possible to make a decision between drugs/alcohol and a family member, children are even more confused. Drugs or alcohol does not have to play a role in abandonment of children or loved ones.
Reintroducing a loved one who has abandoned their children takes time and professional support. We offer counseling for children and their family members who have been alienated by a parent or loved one.

The court recognizes the biological and legal rights of a parent, and subsequently may order a custodial parent to assist in reuinification.
